

Dewey Isaac King passed away on June 1, 2017 in Denver Colorado he was 76. Burial will be June 22 at 1 PM at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Grand Junction, Colorado. Dewey was born to Isaac Wells and Melva (Spaulding) King on April 26, 1941 in Winnemucca, Nevada.
He grew up in Delta, Colorado and graduated in 1959. He joined the Marine Corps apps following high school. He married Elaine Joyce Bennett of Nucla, Colorado on November 17, 1967 in Nucla. They had two children.
He is survived by his daughter Kendra King of Portland, Oregon, a sister June(Michael Sr) Knob of Delta, Colorado , nephew Mike Knob Jr. of Cedaredge, Colorado and three grandchildren John, Michael and Joseph Simmons of Missouri.
He was preceded in passing by his wife Elaine, daughter Shellia, granddaughter Cassie, mother and stepfather J B & Melva (Spaulding) Thompson, sisters Dolly (Peter) Chamblin and Donna Mae Peters, a brother Michael McArthur King his and grandmother Edna (Blumberg) Davis.
Dewey spent most of his life working in the mines from the uranium mill in Uravan to coal mines such as Mid-Continent Resources, Deserado Coal, Powderhorn and 20 mile. He loved to fish, hunt, camp, garden and explore back roads in his Jeep.
