Dolores was born to Virgil and Gladys Caldwell in Harlan, Kansas, on November 23, 1931.
She lived the majority of her married life in Minneapolis, Kansas where Dolores ran a household, raised three children, and was a very active community volunteer.
She was a spiritual person. Her faith became more personal to her over the past few decades as she responded to her own life circumstances.
Perhaps her three most commonly-used phrases over the past several years were “I love you,” “I pray for you all the time,” and “I’ve sure looked forward to this.” She was a gentle spirit.
Dolores battled mental illness for over 40 years. It was life-changing for her and those around her. That battle at times competed with the people she loved and the things she enjoyed doing. She worked hard to maintain an intelligent, caring attitude toward life.
Dolores is survived by her children sons, Doug and wife Tammy, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Richard and wife Cindy, of Montrose, Colorado and daughter Maggie of Dolores, Colorado. Grandchildren Ross and wife Mandy, Waco, Texas; David and fiancée Brittany, Orange City, Iowa; Laurie of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Nick, of Orange City, Iowa.Hunter, Rachel, and Garrett, of Flintville, Tennessee.
