He was born March 10th 1930 in Smithville Missouri, the son of Arthur and Rosa Holtzclaw. On June 20th, 1953, he married Barbara Berry Holtzclaw.
An Air Force veteran, he served in the Berlin airlift and was stationed at NORAD at the height of the cold war. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for the City of Colorado Springs for many years.
Don was well liked by his neighbors and was known for his kind and generous spirit. He liked to draw and paint. He did fine leatherwork and enjoyed wood-carving.
He is predeceased by his wife Barbara Holtzclaw, his brothers William Arthur Holtzclaw and Eugene Holtzclaw and his sister Lorene Kern.
He is survived by his second wife Graciela Holtzclaw and her daughters Rina Stillman and Dorian Kosley, and by his son Scott Holtzclaw, with his wife Christina, and his granddaughters Amanda and Jennifer Holtzclaw.
Services will be held Friday, February 10th at 1:00 pm at East United Methodist Church, 1505 E. Monument, Colorado Springs. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Rd.
