Donald Creig Peery

Donald Creig Peery was born November 28, 1941, in Ong, Nebraska to Roy and Blanche Peery. Creig was the youngest of three boys and was raised near Crete, Nebraska. When Creig was a young teen he moved to Texas to live with his oldest brother Gene after his father’s passing, and worked several jobs including as a gas station attendant, delivery driver for a linen company, and in the oil fields in Midland, TX. He later moved to Minnesota and became a sales representative for American Beauty Macaroni. Creig and his brother Jerry purchased a grocery store in Annandale, MN in 1971 where he worked and learned to be a meat cutter. Creig moved to Colorado Springs, CO around 1973 and spent many years working as a meat cutter for Simms Foods. After the store closure, Creig went to work for King Soopers until his retirement in 2002. Creig enjoyed riding his Harley, making trips to Cripple Creek to try his luck at the casinos, and was a longtime member of the Victor Elks Club.

Creig married Ardis (Alamaa) Murr in 1988, and they made their home for many years in Colorado Springs and moved to the Falcon area in 2022. Creig passed away peacefully while in hospice care on February 9, 2025, at the age of 83 after enduring ongoing health issues.

Creig is survived by his wife Ardis; brother Jerry Peery; three nephews Mark, John and Tim Peery; niece Diane Young; stepchildren Fred Murr Jr.; Tammy (Dan) Fields; step granddaughters Amy Jo Fields, Jervaise (Christopher) Pileggi; Jessica (Adam) King; and step great grandchildren Zayne Rodgers, Remi King, Jenevieve and Ellerie Pileggi. He was proceeded in death by his parents; brother Eugene Peery, sister-in-law Toni, nephew Steven Peery; sister-in-law Jean Peery; step granddaughter Nicole Fields; and step great-granddaughter Harvey King.
