Donald Armour Russell, age 60, passed away on June 17th, 2022. Donald was born on August 14th, 1961 to his mother, Obine Williams, and his father, Hampton Russell. He was born in Illinois and raised in East Saint Louis, Missouri along with siblings and many cousins. After his father's passing, Donald eventually followed his mother to Colorado Springs, Colorado where they both lived out the remainder of their lives. During his time there, Donald worked as a Chef at many hotels, restaurants, and country clubs, most notably at the Broadmoor Hotel and the Antler's Hilton where some of his recipies are still in use. In the later part of his life, he was a skilled truck and trailer driver. He had many interests and hobbies which included attending car shows and jazz festivals, gardening, cooking, and flight simulations. He was preceeded in death by his sister, Myradell Bell, his father, Hampton Russell, and his mother Obine Williams. He is survived by his three children, Brandi Recino, Mikal Russell, and Vanessa Russell, his granddaughter, Noelle Recino, his brothers, Eric Russell and William (Bill) Dowell, his significant other, Portia Ford, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service for Donald will be held Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Memorial Gardens Cemetery & Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80910 with inurnment to follow.
