

Donald Anthony Wurr, the son of Virgine (Fendrich) & Verl Wurr was born on March 1, 1960, in Carroll, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manning, Iowa. Donald attended Manning Community School and was a member of the graduating class of 1978.
Don enjoyed going to school, especially being on stage performing in plays and musicals. It started in 8th grade as a pickpocket in the musical Oliver and ending during his senior year having the lead in the musical Li’l Abner, playing Li’l Abner.
On September 5, 1981, Donald was united in marriage to Denice Bissen, daughter of Francis & Marceline (Schmitz) Bissen of Defiance, Iowa, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Defiance, Iowa. One daughter, Nicole, was born to this union. After their marriage, they lived in Denison, Iowa until 1985 when they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Don’s family and friends were very important to him. He enjoyed restoring and working on vintage arcade games and vintage and classic cars, especially muscle cars. He enjoyed watching the Denver Broncos and listening to George Strait, polka music and oldies music.
Survivors include her his daughter Nicole McCann, her husband Alan McCann and grandson Alister McCann. Brothers Thomas Wurr and wife Teresa “Nook” of Colorado Springs, Colorado; James Wurr and wife Cindy of Ankeny, Iowa. Denice’s brothers and sister, Don Bissen of Defiance, Iowa, Darrell Bissen and his wife Brenda of Dow City, Iowa, DyAnn Muff and her husband Doug of Westminster, Colorado, Delbert Bissen and his wife Jill of Defiance, Iowa; nieces & nephews and many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death his wife Denice, mom Virgine Wurr, dad Verl Wurr, brother David Wurr and brother Robert Wurr. Also Denice’s parents, Francis & Marceline Bissen and Denice’s brother Dean Bissen.
