

She is survived by her husband, William Machacek, 3 children, Greg (Rebecca) Machacek, Teresa (Gene) Head, and Michelle Krichbaum, and brother, Richard (Judi) Dissly. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Sarah, Izobel, Cassandra, Heather, Gabriella, Aubrianna and William as well as two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ronald Dissly.
Donna was born in Lewistown, MT to Howard and Neva (Matthews) Dissly on April 10, 1947. She grew up in Lewistown before spending a brief time in California, and later graduated from Summit High School in Summit, New Jersey. After briefly attending Colorado State University, Donna moved back to California, where she met William Machacek. They were married on May 23, 1970, in Sunnyvale, CA. In 1979, Donna and William moved to Idaho Falls, ID, where Donna worked part-time as a children’s bowling instructor. In 1986, they relocated to Colorado Springs, where Donna spent the remainder of her life.
In addition to raising her family, Donna worked at National Car Rental, Ford Motor Credit, and most recently, Christ the King Lutheran Church. Her dedication to her work, especially at Christ the King, was a testament to her deep faith and commitment to service.
Donna was also passionate about helping others in her community. She spent many years as Bethel Guardian of Job’s Daughter’s Bethel #23, where she positively impacted the lives of many young women. Donna was also a longtime volunteer at Christmas Unlimited, offering her time both during the Christmas season and throughout the year at their thrift store.
Donna's kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a devoted and caring woman, whose legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and community.
There will be a private family funeral. A celebration of Donna’s life will be held in the spring. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, Christmas Unlimited or Christ the King Lutheran Church.
