Dorothy Harness

She was born December 16, 1928 at home on the family farm, near Blanchard, Iowa to John and Edith Pearl Richardson. Dorothy graduated from Blanchard Memorial High School. Dorothy married Ray W. Harness on July 15, 1950.

Dorothy spent her life helping family and friends as needed. She enjoyed volunteering for many fundraising activities in both the community and church, her favorite being Sunday School teacher for young childen. She was a member of several church and women's groups. She was a wonderful wife, homemaker, and public servant.

Dorothy was survived by her husband, Ray W. Harness; son Allen R. Harness and his wife, Sandy; daughter, Judy L. Harness; granddaughter, Wendy S. Harness; great-grandson, Nathan A. Harness; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 7 brothers and 4 sisters.

A private family viewing was held December 27, 2018 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 26, 2019 10:00 a.m. at Church at Briargate, 9550 Otero Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80920.
