

Douglas Anthony Peterburs was born August 13, 1956 in Panama City FL. and passed January 7, 2017 in Colorado Springs, CO. He is survived by his father; Col. (retired) Joseph A. Peterburs, two brothers Greg and Mark Peterburs. His mother, Josephine C. Peterburs (Nee-Heffner), and brother Rick Peterburs preceded him in death. Douglas graduated from University of Colorado, Denver with a BA in Chemistry. As a member of a military family Douglas traveled to Newfoundland, most of Europe, Greece and North Africa before settling in the United States and eventually in Colorado Springs in 1978. He worked for the Department of Health in Denver during the 1980’s and was a top automobile sales consultant in Pueblo during the 90’s. He severely injured his legs in the early 2000’s, an accident that eventually disabled him. Douglas loved his cat, and was fond of saying “A dog comes when he’s called; a cat takes a message and gets back with you”. He believed and eye for an eye makes the world blind, and tried to do good to all he encountered. He was a kind and gentle man and will be greatly missed by his friends and family. Services will be held Friday January 20, 2017 at 10:30am in Colorado Springs at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on 3122 Poinsetta Dr. Inurnment to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
