

Dwain P Jack passed away peacefully in his home in Colorado Springs, Colorado on May 11, 2025. He was a retired Lt. Colonel in the United States Army. He was born December 20, 1930 in Buckhannon, West Virginia to O. Herbert Jack and Eunice G. (Dean) Jack. Colonel Jack began his military career in June 1954 and served in various positions including camp commander of Camp Hale, Colorado overseeing the training of foreign military members directing mountain operations. He was part of operations and planning officers of the 7th Engineering Brigade in Germany from 1962 to 1964 and the 27th Engineering Battalion in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. He was the executive officer of the U.S. Advisor Group in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from 1967 to 1970. Colonel Jack returned to Vietnam and was the chief of the Contracts Division for Facilities Engineering Services.His last appointment before retirement was to the post of director for services at the New Cumberland Army Depot in Pennsylvania. He has been decorated with the Bronze Star Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Medal and the Army Commendation Medal.
Once retired, he was superintendent for several construction firms, building McDonalds and other restaurants in a five state area. He was also President of Jac-Will Enterprises which ran Columbine Floral for 21 years.
He married Patricia (Brown) Jack on May 21, 1958. He is survived by his wife, daughters Marjorie Keller (Scott) and Jeri Baker (Kevin), four grandchildren Christopher, Jeffrey, Justin and Alexander and five great-grandchildren. He also is survived by two nephews, Thomas Labonte and Michael Labonte.
Colonel Jack was an avid golfer having played at several PGA championship courses. He enjoyed bowling, being on several teams and enjoyed being part of a poker group.
Dwain was a proud and longtime member of Freemasonry and other Freemasonic organizations. He was a member of Ramah and Centurion Lodges and was a Past Master of Ramah. He was an active member of the Al Kaly Shriners and its Legion of Honor (Shriners who were military veterans). Shriners support the Shriners hospitals and clinics across North America caring for children with disabilities. Dwain also was a member of the Scottish Rite, Southern Jurisdiction.
Swan Law Funeral Home at 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado will be handling the arrangements . Memorial services will be May 31, 2025 at 10:00 am. Internment will be at Evergreen Cemetery June 2, 2025 at 11:00 am. Memorial contributions can be made to Shriners International, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607.
