Ed proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 28 years, retiring as a Chief Master Sergeant. While in the service, he met and married Annick Andrée Simmons (Andrée Colle) and lived in different locations throughout the world during their military life. After retiring from the Air Force, Ed and his family moved to Plano, Texas where he worked for Electrospace Systems Incorporated for 12 years during which time it became a Raytheon company. After retiring from Raytheon, he and Annick settled in Colorado Springs to be closer to their children.
Ed was an avid train collector and spent many happy hours running his trains. He also recounted many fond memories of his life as a young man spending summers at his uncle’s farm in upstate New York.
Ed most enjoyed being with his family and spent many magical moments with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who fondly referred to him as their Pepère and Grand-Pepère. Ed was happiest being surrounded by family at the dinner table attempting to solve the world’s problems over a fine meal and great wine.
Ed leaves behind a legacy of love, strength and wisdom that lives on in all of us. We will miss him dearly.
A celebration of life in Ed’s honor will be held on April 24th, 2026, at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 N. Cascade Ave., Colorado Springs, CO, 80903 at 11am.
