My mother, Edith, was the strongest woman I have ever known. She corralled us 4 boys even when Dad was deployed out onboard ships. Can you imagine, taking care of 4 boys by yourself! We were a handful and yet she and Dad raised us with their love, and a little judicious use of a paddle. Remember those old toys that has a bouncing ball attached to a wooden paddle? Well we liked to play with them but knowing what use  the paddle would get after the ball broke off made us hesitant to ask for that toy. 
As we grew older Mom continued to serve as an example of a loving, strong woman. Whether it was her more than 60 year marriage, or her courage facing her colon cancer, Mom was an inspiration. And I know she would think I was being overly emotional by calling her an inspiration, but she really was. Goodbye Mom, I love you. Your son, Greg

My mom was a friend of Don & Edith and I was fortunate to become their friend as well. Dawna & I stopped off in Texas to visit with them on one of our motorcycle trips. Once Edith returned to COS, we felt privileged to have her as a friend coming out to  visit with us and us visiting with her at her house. She was a real joy and pleasure to know. Edith & Don will be in our hearts forever. Her warm heart, smile, wit, humour, and hugs will be missed. 

Edith, I'm so blessed to get to know you and spend time with you. We will truly miss you. Patrick and I are glad we had tacos with you in December!  R.I.P. my friend

We are so happy to have gotten to have gotten to know Edith Bain. A wonderful person, she served her country by serving as a military wife to a career navy officer, and raising three boys as a military Mom.  Here's hoping you win every day at Bingo in heaven and ride the skies in your RV reunited with Don!!!
