

Edmund Dee, born January 10, 1933, in Ballylongford, County Kerry, Ireland passed away peacefully on April 16, 2026, at age 93 after a long wonderful life. The Son of Denis Dee and Mary Dee (Kelly) he leaves behind one child, Michael (Diane) Dee, as well as one sibling, Sister Brendan, a son-in-law Andy Dugenske, a grandson, Henry (Karyn) Wright and great grandsons Ambrose and Callum.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Catherine Dee, nee Kennedy, daughter, Mary Dugenske, and eight siblings, Michael (Agnes) Dee, Patrick (Norma) Dee, James (Honora) Dee, Bridget (Jack) Stephens, John Dee, Denis (Patricia) Dee, Mary (Jim) Collins and Paul (Noreen) Dee. He held a special place in his heart for his many nieces and nephews. He cherished his friends and former co-workers, especially Terisa & Steve Wagner and Ollie Plunkett.
He lived his 93 years to the fullest. Immigrating in 1954 to Chicago in his early twenties. He enlisted in the Army in 1956 and after one tour of service he returned to Chicago. He worked several jobs until becoming an operating engineer with the Chicago Sanitary District. He later moved to Woodridge IL to raise his family. He retired from working in 2003 and later moved to Colorado to be close to family.
He was happiest reading about history, doing crossword puzzles and visiting craft breweries. His Catholic faith provided him with great comfort, especially in in his final years.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10AM on June 12th 2026 at St Scholastica Catholic Church in Woodridge Illinois with interment following at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name to the Boys Town is appreciated.
