Born on April 17, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY at Caledonian Hospital, Ed was the cherished child of Bernie and Annie. He spent his early years in Brooklyn on Ocean Avenue and Kings Highway, where he developed a lifelong love of baseball and delicious food. He worked at the Water Flume at Coney Island Amusement Park and enjoyed many Nathan’s hotdogs.
Ed attended Brooklyn College, while moonlighting as a NYC taxi driver, and later the University of Denver to obtain his Ph.D in clinical psychology. He worked for Cherry Creek Schools as the Special Education Director and finished his career with the state of Colorado as the Assistant Commissioner of Education. He was known to many for his devotion, intelligence, problem solving, humanitarianism, and enthusiasm. Also his quick wit and endless facts.
In 1973, he met Sheila Crawmer and they married in Denver, CO. Together they moved to Kiowa, CO and built a life filled with friends, family, adventure, sports teams, and endless memories.
Beyond career and family, Ed was deeply passionate about education, reading, jazz, desserts, and found joy in bird watching, hiking, and running.
Those who knew Ed will remember him for his creative thoughts and helpfulness. He had a gift for wisdom and meaningful conversation, making others laugh, and touched many lives through kindness, generosity, leadership, and friendship.
