Lolly spent the past 45 years with her husband, Richard D. Smith, he was her love and life partner through their many adventures together. Later in life when her health declined, Richard became her devoted caretaker. He will always be her “Bubba”.
She spent her childhood in Pueblo, CO. Adult life took her to many cities, states, and foreign countries. Always the trooper adjusting to life in new communities.
She went to college at age 38 and proudly earned an LPN degree in 1983. She worked caring for people in Nursing Homes and at Mayo Clinic Scottsdale when they lived in Mesa, AZ in the mid 90’s.
Lolly is survived by husband, Richard D. Smith, daughter Rena (Brian) Crochet, son Robert D. Romero, sisters Ersie Rivera and Virginia (Arnold) Manzanares, grandchildren Michael Gabaldon, Michelle Gabaldon, Rick (Evelyn) Romero and Veronica (Aaron) Bush, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Special friends Gary and Sherry Musil of Charleston, SC.
Preceded in death by her parents, Jose A. & Teresina Padilla, step-mother Faye Padilla, brothers Ricardo “Taro” and Jose “Sonny” Padilla.
Lolly was in the care of Swan-Law Funeral Directors in Colorado Springs, CO. Cremation has taken place. There will not be a formal memorial service. The family will have a celebration of life get together later.
