

Elmer Morris passed away peacefully in his home in Colorado Springs. He was surrounded by family members who loved him. Elmer was born to John and Emma Morris in Shreveport Louisiana. He was the youngest of 6 children.
In 1945 at 17 years old Elmer joined the U.S. NAVY. He served during the WW2 and Korean war conflicts. During his Naval career, he had a daughter, Rachael, whom he eventually outlived. Elmer retired from the Navy in 1965 after 20 years of service.
On March 23 1979 he married the love of his life Juanita. Together they celebrated 44 years of marriage. They traveled, and fished and enjoyed the outdoors and state parks together.
Elmer leaves behind his devoted wife Juanita Morris, step-sons Terry and Tommy Downs, step-daughter Reba York, many precious grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends.
Elmer was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and his Daughter.
A Visitation for Elmer will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 11:30AM - 12:30PM, with a Funeral Service immediately following at 12:30PM at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
A Committal Service with Military Honors will occur Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 2:00PM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80925.
