It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother Mrs. Erika Furr. She peacefully passed away on March 11, 2023, at 1:21 am after a week-long stay in the intensive care unit at Evans Army Hospital. We are so grateful for the medical staff that took such good care of her. She was born on July 6th, 1932, in Memmingen, Germany (in Bavaria), to her parents Johanness and Anna Barbara Fackler. She met and married her husband, Gene Furr while he was stationed in Stuttgart Germany. They married on June 27, 1958 in Bernhausen, Germany. Throughout her life, Mrs. Furr embodied the true spirit of resilience, courage, sacrifice and grace. She received countless awards and accolades for her volunteer work in the communities her family resided in.
