

Evelyn Mae Hollowell peacefully departed this life on November 13, 2025 at the age of 100. She was born on May 3,1925, the second of seven children born to John L. Hollowell and Zephia K. (Gordon) Hollowell.
Evelyn grew up in Elbert and Lincoln counties, Colorado, graduated from Hugo High school in 1944, attended Blair business college then began a distinguished career in civil service. Her postings included the Bureau of Indian Affairs, The US Air Force Academy, the embassies in Bonn, Germany and Beirut Lebanon. In 1968 Evelyn returned to the Air Force Academy serving until retiring in 1975.
Evelyn’s intelligence confidence, wit and sense of humor were unmatched. She was loyal to all and loved her family and friends wholeheartedly. She will be missed by many.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her two parents; two brothers, Richard Hollowell and Bernard Hollowell and a sister Barbara Jolly. She is survived by one sister, Josephine Bennett and Two brothers Johnnie Hollowell (Kay), Gordon Hollowell (Nancy), numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom admired, cherished and respected her deeply.
