

Frank Kidwell, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully on April 25, 2023. He was born on April 13, 1937, in Oneida, Kansas to Leonard Clyde Kidwell and Hazel Marie (Brammer) Kidwell. He grew up in the Sabetha/Oneida area and graduated from Sabetha High School in 1955. Frank married his high school sweetheart, Peggy Jo Miller, in June 1956.
Frank joined the United States Air Force in 1957 and after serving for four years, the family settled in Colorado Springs, CO. He spent over 30 years working as a delivery driver for Wonder Bread Company. After retiring from Wonder Bread, he worked as a Quality Control Specialist for Current Manufacturing. He later worked for Avis Car Rental delivering vehicles to cities as assigned.
Frank was a loving man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was an avid gardener in his younger years and always took pride in how his yard looked. He entertained everyone with his stories about growing up on a farm. He enjoyed his daily Starbuck’s coffee trips and weekly McDonald’s trip to spend time with family and friends. He looked forward to going to Spring Training in Arizona to see the Rockies, and being the early morning riser, would fill the family in on early morning happenings. He truly enjoyed his family and friends and sharing funny stories and jokes.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Leonard and Hazel Kidwell; stepmother, Lois Kidwell; wife, Peggy Jo Kidwell; brother, Charles L. Kidwell; and grandson, Michael Jenkins.
He is survived by his children, Jim Kidwell (Cindy); David Kidwell (Valeri); JoLisa Kidwell; Donald Shuck; Debby Kidwell Harmon; Bruce Kidwell (Deni); Brian Kidwell; and his grandchildren, Michelle Fife, Francisco Kidwell, Preston Kidwell, Kyle Kidwell, ShayLynne Keiser, Gerrick Harmon, Glenn Harmon, Jeffery Kidwell, Amanda Miller, Aaron Boekemeier, Mackenzie Kidwell, Kaylee Kidwell, Marissa Kidwell and Benjamin Kidwell. He is also survived by many great grandchildren.
A graveside service and interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 Hancock Expwy., Colorado Springs, CO at 2:30 pm on Friday, May 19th, 2023. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at www.coloradogives.org or the charity of your choice.
