

Tony was born March 30, 1941 to Henry and Julia (Larson) Nussbaum in Drake, North Dakota. He was the 11th of their 12 children. He was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Drake, North Dakota. The Nussbaum family moved to Colorado Springs in 1955.
Tony loved his country and served in the US Army from 1963 to 1965. He was able to end his service commitment in his hometown at Fort Carson with his best and lifelong friend Rick Childers. He spent his working career until retirement at Colorado Springs Utilities. He believed in education and earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the University of Southern Colorado. Tony married Wilda Viola August 22, 1969. They made their home and raised their family among life long friends and family in Colorado Springs.
Tony loved music and his playlist expressed many of his thoughts and feelings. He always enjoyed having coffee with his friends, horses, hunting, fishing, and restoring old tractors. Most of all he loved reliving his life through watching his children and grandchildren grow.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Helen, Carol, Jeanette, Evelyn (Eppie), Marion, Doris, Dorla , Vernon, Dennis (Butch), and Merle (Punky).
Tony leaves behind his wife Wilda, son Mike, daughter Lori, grandchildren, Wyatt, Nolan, Peyton, Kendal, his sister Arlie, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Swan Law Funeral Directors from 4 to 7 PM. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 11 AM at Black Forest Lutheran Church with interment at Monument Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the El Paso County Humane Society or Black Forest Lutheran Church.
