

20, 2022 surrounded by his family in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the age of 75. He was born
in Livermore, CA on August 19, 1946, the youngest of four children born to the late Jessie and
Mary (Servos) Simms. Gary was happily married to Jeanne Cotter for 28 unforgettable years.
Gary was a hard worker but always made time for his family, friends and passions. While living
in Hawaii he was a creative tile installer and massage therapist. After moving to Colorado
Springs in 1991 he continued as a massage therapist and also enjoyed renovating local
properties. He loved dancing at Cowboys and playing guitar with the Basement Boys. He also
loved working on cars, riding his Harley, fishing, creating stained glass and going on walks with
Jeanne and his dog KC. Most of all he liked to make people laugh. Gary was a member of St.
Joseph’s Church at Southgate and a volunteer at the Marian House Soup Kitchen.
Gary is survived by his wife Jeanne Cotter, his sister Helen Bowler, brother Tom (Ginny) Simms,
his son Bryan Lee Simms of Colorado Springs, daughter Jennelle (Mike) Seibert of Kuna, Idaho;
stepchildren Christopher (Tanya) Cotter, Michael (Christina) Cotter, Jennifer (Wayne) Pittman;
loving grandchildren, Peyton Simms, Ashton (Kaylee) Simms, Jessica Simms, Michael
(Sabrine) Seibert, Jacob (Mariah) Seibert, Tim (Hailey) Seibert, Jason Seibert, Corey Seibert,
and Rodney Seibert; step grandchildren, Joshua, Nicole and Melanie Pittman, Jackson, Evelyn
and Eoin Cotter. Gary is also survived by great grandchildren: Jeffrey, Hunter, Dallas, Emma,
Kyah and Adalynn.
Funeral Mass at St Mary’s February 16, 2022 at 10 am at St Mary’s Cathedral, 22 W Kiowa
Street. Interment at the Pikes Peak National Cemetery following the mass.
