Heavenly Father, I place my earthly father Gary Jacob Ulku before you now and I ask that You keep him. He has kept Your word: as a Father, he did not provoke me to anger, but he brought me up in the discipline and instruction of Christ. Lord, I pray that the knowledge, morals, and principles that You led him to instill in me will also guide his life so that he may draw closer to You, Amen. Thank you all for coming to see a great man make his journey to see his own father Ernest Jacob Ulku in the heavens above us.! They are now together, We will all join them in the future and celebrate life!!! Love you all!!!
I want to especially thank all his family, friends and enemy's for being a part of our lives! All I can think about is the days we have spent together talking about life in general, everyone that we knew was always on out minds! Me and my father met everyday for the last 2 years at 2:30 sharp for happy hour, even during the pandemic!!!! My father was not scared of it and even though I did get it, he said who cares, just another flu and still had a beer next to me! His biggest saying that I will always remember is that you control your life and you need to make it out how you want it to be, and live it to your fullest!!!! Let's fish on and carry on his memories with friends, brothers, son's and grandson's, granddaughter' and even great grandchildren!! God Bless!! My heart hurts!!

I thank the Lord that He got the message to me. I had been far away from the family. since since 1974. Working my career in diff. states. I am grateful that someone told me about my 'big brother' is located in Colo. Springs, Co. 1995-- Went to visit him, and he suggested I move to Colo. 5 minutes later I said yes.
God knows our future and helping us always, never leaving us alone. I didn't know that I would be needing my brother Gary in my life. Bro. is so kind and considerate of family He was always willing to help. I do love my Bro.

My grandfather was a big part of my life. He was there for me since day one. He always made sure his family was happy and taken care of. We always had so much fun going places. From singing Sugarland on road trips to cheering on the Vikings, no matter how simple the event, we always had fun. He was there for my school dances, my graduations, and even my first heart break. He drove 1200 miles 2 days after I gave birth to see his great-granddaughter. He loved everyone of us unconditionally. You could say my Grampy was a father figure and he taught me many valuable lessons. I don’t know where I would be without his influence.

Sorry to hear about his passing he was a wonderful man with a great sense of humor! I enjoyed working at Target with Gary, there was never a dull moment with him around. Though I hadn’t seen him in a few years he will be greatly missed and I am so glad I had the pleasure of knowing him. Condolences to the family.

As i said, i would add a adventure we had that I wanted to share of my brother that to me was special.
We where fishing on Leech Lake (huge). Sleeping in a tent in Sept.
Got up to fish in morning and it was windy and we a little green around the gills from night before. Got out on a very windy lake and about 5 miles out and I look at Gary and said 'wanna go in?' he said better cause if I'am as green as you we won't make it. In we went and it took us a hour against the wind and crawl into the sleeping bags for two hours sleep before starting over again. Oh my, that was a great fishing trip and ate lots of fish and slung alot of bull! :-)

This is a difficult task. I have many but putting them down for this is facing reality. Very difficult indeed. I have many great memories of my (older) brother. Which he always said was me. I shall try to post them from time to time.
The first time Gary came to join us for Mn fishing was a start of the best of times. We actually did some fishing but that was besides the stories told etc.
one time we were in Binford N.D. Fishing at Devils Lake. Which is more stories on thelake. In Binford was a fireman sponsored street dance. Well being a AF vet as fire chief he said proudly"in support of fellow fireman, i'am putting my teeth in and walking into town!!" (2 blocks ) Don and I laughed all night long till 2 am when he came back. Loved that guy!
