

Genevieve I. Danielson Campbell, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on 19 November 2013 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on 17 June 1913. When she was 10 days old, she was adopted and lovingly cared for by Irving and Julia Danielson.
After graduating from Carl Schurz High School in 1931, she attended a business school which enabled her to become a stenographer. In 1937, she and some friends vacationed in Colorado Springs where she met Dale Campbell who was a tour-car driver up Pikes Peak….they married in 1938.
Their married life brought them 3 children…Dale Jr., Cheryl, and Julia. They lived in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Colorado. Together they owned and operated the A&A Truck Lines, Udick’s Tire Shop, The Dairy King, and Pikes Peak Trailer Supplies. Gene (as she was known) worked at the City Utilities for a brief time. After the early death of her husband, she worked at the Colorado Springs Board of Realtors.
Church activities at the First Lutheran Church were an important part of her life. She played in the bell choir, helped with office duties, participated in The Dorcus Circle and was also part of the Ambler walking group.
Family and friends were highly appreciated in her lifetime. She enjoyed traveling with her family to Canada, many European countries and many states and national parks of this country.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory…her children…Dale Jr. (Flo) Campbell, Cheryl (Larry) Hoppe, and Julia Baki…6 precious grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren…as well as a host of wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at First Lutheran Church, 1515 North Cascade, Colorado Springs, Colorado at 1:00pm Saturday, 28 December 2013. A private burial will be held at Memorial Gardens at an earlier time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Lutheran Church.
