Gordon LaVerne Smith Jr.

Gordon L. Smith Jr., husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2019. He was born in Tomah, Wisconsin April 20, 1948, the third of ten children born to the late Gordon Sr. and Ila Mae Smith.

Gordy served three tours in Vietnam as an Army Ranger with the 101st Airborne Division, F58th LRP/"L" 75th. Upon return, he continued in the Army Reserves. He was the second of three generations to attend jump school at Fort Benning, Delta Company, The Rock. In 1981, he met his wife Eileen while working as a Registered Nurse. He worked in the ICU for 29 years, until retirement.

Family and his Army brothers were extremely important in Gordy's life. He is survived by his loving wife Eileen Smith; children Michael Smith and wife Natalie, Mackenzie Politico and husband Jeffrey, Nicole Pedrick, Kenneth Smith and partner Shannon Parsons, Kimberly Ross and husband Scott, and Eris Smith and partner Jayme Zdan; grandchildren Connor (Kaylee), Katelynn "Katie", Gavin, and Jordan; siblings Sheila Jo, Alex, Michael, Terry, Dennis, and Dwight. Proceeded in death by his parents, and siblings Nancy, Michelle, and Larry.
