Gregory “Greg” Cook, (70), of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on September 4, 2023. Greg was born on October 9, 1952 in Dothan, Alabama. He and his family settled in Colorado during his teen years. A short time after graduating from Mitchell High School, Greg joined the United States Army. One of his greatest experiences during his time in the Army was meeting his hero, Muhammad Ali, while attending basic training in Indiana. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Greg held various jobs until settling into a career as a Painting Foreman. Greg was talented at whatever he put his mind to including singing, dancing, cooking, playing basketball, football, tennis, bowling, chess, shooting pool, using nunchucks, and pretty much anything where he could show his competitive nature. He was also great at fixing anything and everything. He loved being a protector, a teacher, and was very quick-witted with an amazing sense of humor.
Greg/Pop/Papa/G-Man/Grico/Jughead/G-Pop/Uncle Greg will be greatly missed.
Greg is survived by his former wife, Linda Cook and their children, Chantel Cook and Felicia Dennis, granddaughter Dericia Dennis, sisters Beryl Love (James), Deborah McCallup, Saundra Cook, brother Michael Cook (Theresa), numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father Edsel F. Cook, mother Annie T. Cook, and brother Kenneth Cook.
