Karl had a distinguished military career. He served with one of the last units of horse cavalry and horse drawn artillery. He also served in the infantry and Army signal corps and received numerous awards including two purple hearts. His passing brings sadness that he will no longer be with us, and joy that he goes to be with our Lord and Savior.
