Gwynne Louise Price

Gwynne was born on June 19, 1944 in Colorado Springs to the late Joseph George and Fatnah “Esther” Koory Shabouh. Gwynne was the youngest of four daughters. She was a 1962 graduate of Palmer High School and of Colorado College in 1966. She later earned a Master’s degree at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.

Most recently, she was a substitute teacher for District 11 after many years of teaching Spanish, French, Home Economics and a variety of other subjects at North Middle School. Gwynne enjoyed cooking, trying new restaurants, the French language and exploring new finds at the grocery store. She especially loved the time she spent with her daughter and son-in-law.

Gwynne is survived by her only child, Kristine (Kristi) Mathieu of Lakewood (husband, Grant). She is also survived by her sisters, Diana Shabouh and Joyce Cann, both of Colorado Springs and by many beloved nieces, nephews, and God children. She is preceded in death by her sister, Gloria Lees.

Services will be held at Corpus Christi Catholic Church at 10:00AM on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 in Colorado Springs, 2318 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80907.

Following the Funeral Mass will be a Graveside Service at 12:00PM at Crystal Valley Cemetery, 502 Plainview Place, Manitou Springs, CO 80829.

A Reception will follow from 1:00PM-3:00PM at Red Gravy, 23 South Tejon Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
