Born on March 4, 1933, in Arkansas, Helen was the daughter of Ozema Marie Turney and Lomer Turney, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dodd Jr.; her son, Richard Dodd; her sister, Juanita Hepp; and her brothers, Johnny Turney and Mike Turney.
Helen is survived by her son, David Dodd of Colorado Springs; her daughter in law, Nancy Dodd of Parkdale, Colorado; her granddaughter, Chelsey Marie Dodd of Parkdale, Colorado; and her brothers, Jim Turney, Joe Turney, Larry Turney, and Lomer Turney.
A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Helen co owned Consumer Choice Carpet Care and took great pride in the work her family performed. Known affectionately as “Inspector Twelve,” she believed in doing everything with care and often reminded others to “clean with your eyes first.” Helen faithfully served Christ throughout her life. She treasured time spent with her family, especially her granddaughter Chelsy, and enjoyed traveling to visit her brothers and sisters in law in Arkansas. She found great joy in watching Son Life Network and listening to gospel music.
Helen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery & Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80910, US, on November 6, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by the Funeral from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, and Committal from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
