

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dotty, who departed this world on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at the age of 92; in Colorado Springs, CO. She was a cherished wife, mother, Nannie, Great Nannie, and friend whose kindness, wisdom, and warmth touched everyone who knew her. She never met a stranger.
Born in Aliquippa, PA to the late John and Elizabeth Kiseda Dzugan. Dotty was one of 9 children; her 5 brothers John Jr, Michael Paul, Steven Andrew, Joseph, and Robert Dzugan, and her 3 sisters Elizabeth DeLonardis, Mary Polis, and Ann Vargo. Dotty joined the US Army when she was 18 right after high school.
On July 21, 1956 she married Edward Fryar after they met at a Club in Fort Myers while they were serving in the US Military. Dotty left the Army after she was married however; she returned the next day to serve for almost 30 years in civil service.
Dotty lived a life filled with love, God, resilience, and generosity. She dedicated her years to her family and to God, always putting others before herself. Her home was a place of comfort and joy, where laughter and stories were shared over her delicious home-cooked meals. You would never leave hungry!
She is survived by her husband Ed Fryar; her two daughters Mary Janssen and Carol Wright; her 3 Grandchildren Kristen Smith, Nick Janssen, Katelyn Wright; her 5 soon to be 6 Great Grandchildren Troy, Kalynn, Collin, Resse, Jesse, and Baby J; and her added family Tim Wright, Richard Smith, Sarah Janssen, and Robert Carpenter, who will forever cherish her memory and carry her legacy forward.
Dotty will be remembered for her unwavering love, her faith in God, her love for Bingo, her joy in dancing and teaching others the polka, her wisdom that guided us through life’s challenges, and her gentle spirit that made the world a better place. Though she is no longer with us in person, her love and lessons will remain in our hearts forever.
A Rosary and visitation for Dotty will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 9:15 AM to 10:00 AM at St Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 6455 Brook Park Dr, Colorado Springs, CO 80918. Immediately following will be Funeral Services at 10:00 AM with a reception from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Followed by, a Committal Service at 2:00 PM at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80925.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Patrick's Church in her honor.
Rest in peace, Dotty aka Nannie. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
