
Howard Charles Eggers, much-loved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2019, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was born in San Francisco, California, on August 30, 1942. Howard was the oldest of four children born to the late Howard and Jeannette (Delpech) Eggers.
Howard lived in San Francisco until he graduated from the University of San Francisco law school in 1967. He was commissioned into the Army through ROTC and began a 30-year military career as a prosecutor, defense counsel and trial judge. He retired from the Army in 1994 and then became a civilian Professor of Law at the United States Air Force Academy in 1995. Over the next 19 years, he taught and mentored future JAG and Air Force officers. He was also actively involved in his church and community, including being a member of the Tri-Lakes Pre-School Board.
Howard was preceded in death not only by his parents, but also by Noël, his beloved wife of 41 years. He is survived by his daughter, Felicia (and her husband, Bill), and son, Christian (and his wife, Betsy), and three grandchildren, Sebastian, Riley and Alexandria. He will be greatly missed by his brother, Kenny, and sisters, Terri and Nancy.
Visitation will take place Thursday, April 4, 2019, at 09:00 a.m. at the Community Center Chapel, 5134 Cathedral Drive, USAF Academy, Colorado. A memorial service is scheduled for April 4, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the Community Center Chapel. Private burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
