Iola Alston

Iola Alston was born May 11, 1918 in Darlington, South Carolina and lived a blessed 93 years. She passed on July 30, 2011 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She had resided in Colorado Springs for three years.

Iola was preceded by her husband, Frank Alston and is survived by their son George and his wife Sheila Wright of Peyton, Colorado. She leaves behind grandchildren, Yvette (Robert) Ness of Waynesville, North Carolina; Sharon (Don) Owens of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; as well as Michele Wright of Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was blessed with great-grandchildren, Adrienne Owens and Maurice Owens of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; JaNaYa Williams and Richard Williams Jr. of Colorado Springs and four great-great-grandchildren.

A family gathering will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 from 2:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Swan Law Funeral Directors Staterooms, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80920.
