Irene Frances Medrano

Irene F Medrano celebrated her 92nd Birthday on August 14, 2026 joyfully joining her sisters in chorus to Las Mananitas.

She was devoted to everyone in her family; loved leather work, calligraphy, playing defensive position in basketball, and was extremely proud of her service in the Women’s Army Corp. She served in California and Japan working in the Registrar Division as a Medical Records Clerk after graduating with the 235th class at Fort McCullan, Alabama in 1954.

After leaving the military, Irene worked as a photofinisher and machine operator, retiring from Whitco after 15 years.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Candido and Maria Rufina (Mary Ruth) Medrano.

In a family of eight girls, three are deceased prior to Irene. Evelyn ReVello (Frank), Gloria Watson Boyer (Steve), and Dorothy M Thomas (Frank). Irene’s Life Partner of over 50 years, Luisa “Eme” Sanchez passed away on February 25, 2023, leaving their daughter, Elisa Torres.

Irene is survived by her other sisters, Dora M Milner (Michael), Linda S Rafter, Donna L Romero (John Albert), and Rose Arlene Richmeier (Duane). Numerous Nieces and Nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
