

CMS [Ret] Jack Powers was born April 7, 1934, to George and Frances Powers in Sayre, OK and passed away on August 12, 2026 as the result of Dementia. Jack was raised on a farm in Western Ok and graduated from Crawford H.S. in 1953. He joined the U.S. Air Force in August 1954. In Nov. 1956 he married his hometown sweetheart JoAnn Ridgway. To this marriage were born three sons; Tim, Roger and Kevin.
His career in the Air Force took them to many interesting places in the world and eventually in 1974 to Colorado
Springs where he was assigned to Headquarters Aerospace Defense Command Aircraft Maintenance Division.
In his position of Chief Policy and Procedures Section he was very instrumental in changing many regulations and Maintenance manual to streamline organizations in better utilizing manpower and equipment.
After retiring in 1981 and working as a consultant for AMI Industries on the Space Shuttle seat development, he formed his own consulting corporation and wrote three "how to" books published by Global Engineering Documents of Santa Ana, CA He was Director of Operations at AMI Industries from 1985 to 1988
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Timothy, 1 grandson Zack who was killed by lighting at age 5, as well as 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
He is survived by his wife JoAnn of 70 years of Colorado Springs, son Roger Powers [Kim] of Colo. Springs, Kevin Powers [Mistine]
of Redding CA. Three grandsons Ryan Powers [Aubrey] of Lighthouse Point FL Dustyn Powers of Colo. Springs CO and Tyler Powers of Redding CA. one granddaughter Rachel Powers of Redding CA and one great granddaughter Sophia of Lighthouse Point FL.
A Funeral Service will be held at Memorial Gardens Cemetery & Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80910, US, on August 27, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A Committal Service will immediately follow at the same location.
