Jacqueline A. Griego, 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 3, 2019 surrounded by her loving family in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born October 22, 1948 in Alamosa, Colorado to Philemeno S. Martinez and Margaret R. Martinez.
She graduated from Alamosa High School in 1966. Jacqueline married her high school sweetheart Samuel L. Griego on August 19, 1967 in Monte Vista, Colorado.
Samuel and Jacqueline, together with two of their sons are the proud owners of the locally owned business: J & J Caulking and Tuckpoint, which they have successfully owned for 26 years. Jacqueline loved spending time with her family and friends. She and Sam spent their free time together in San Francisco, California and their “fun time” was spent in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Jacqueline is survived by her husband, of 51 years Samuel Griego; sons, Jeffrey Griego, Camron (Olivia) Griego, and Clinton (Jauna) Griego; grandchildren, Patricia, Rianna, Camron Jr., Ryan , and Adriana Griego; great-grandchild, Natalie Griego; sisters, Paula Martinez, Suzan (Robert) Mondragon, Carol Martinez, Veronica Gonzalez, Roberta Martinez, and Stephanie (Jose) Alegria; brother, Mike (Berlinda) Martinez; along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Philemeno and Margaret Martinez; sisters, Barbara Madril, Stella Martinez and Anne Marie Martinez; brothers, Leroy and Edward “Punky” Martinez.
Jacqueline will be dearly missed, she will continue to live on through the memories of those who loved her.
