It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Robert Rose on April 26, 2025 at the age of 55 from complications related to Type 2 diabetes. Jim proudly served in the U.S. Army as a sentinel in the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, known as "The Old Guard," followed by his role as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technician in Germany.
A lover of games, he found joy in teaching young people chess and poker, approaching them with kindness and respect. His open and curious spirit shone through in his passion for studying history, science, and politics, always eager to share his knowledge with others.
Jim is survived by his loving siblings, Karen Loehr, Susan Rose, and John Rose, as well as his step mother, Genevieve Montgomery-Rose. His inurnment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery, with the date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in his memory.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
