Age 96, passed away June 4, 2021 of natural causes in Colorado Springs. CO.
She was born in Colorado Springs to Gertrude and Samuel Cool, a carpenter on the West Side.
She married Charles J. Kitchens in July 1942, ono of the original Army contigent of 22 sent to start Ft. Carson. He was an electrician working Pueblo CF&I and later the Air Force Academy. Charles passed away on May 15, 2003.
Jean was best known for managing payroll for the City of Colorado Springs, being a member of the Monday Progress Club and of the United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Howard, Bryce Cool, Lucile, Ellen Fischer and Marlis Romano.
Jean had one child, Bonnie (husband Richard) Luers.

A graveside service will be held in her honor on Tuesday, June 15th, 2021, 10:00am at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Rd., Colorado Springs, CO 80910. Please meet at the graveside in the Garden of Redeemer near the main entrance.
