

Jessie E. Brown was born October 6, 1930 in Warren County, MS to the late Prince Brown and Lula D. (Dorsey) Brown.
Jessie grew up in the Church, going to all the services with his mother. Accepting Christ at an early age a born-again Christian, living at all times keeping
with the high standards set for him by his Lord and Savior. Jessie E. Brown joined the United States Army in 1954 and served 21 years,
retiring in 1973. During his tenure he served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. Jessie married Mary Mullins in September 1968 and moved to Colorado Springs, CO. He worked for Colorado College for 19 years retiring in 1993. Jessie leaves to mourn, seven children, Ms. Lynda Brown, Dallas, TX, Ms. Sheila Harvey, Champaign, IL, Ms. Hilda K. Britt of Champaign, IL, Ms. Shirley A Collins resides in Settle, WA, Mr. Clifton King III of Fountain, CO, Mr. William N. King of Jackson, MS, and Ms. Manette Griffin of Atlanta, GA, 23 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary K. Brown, one daughter Mary E. Rodgers of Champaign, IL. Coming home, coming home, never more to roam, open wide thy arms of love, Lord, your child is coming home. Remember me with smiles and laughter. For that is the way I will remember you all, if you can only remember me with tears, don’t remember me at all.
