Joan Mayfield

Joan Victoria Mayfield, 87, of Colorado Springs, CO passed away peacefully on August 22, 2024. Joan was born in Newark, NJ, having moved to Colorado 44 years ago. Joan was a loving wife for 67 years to her soulmate and best friend, William Mayfield Sr., (Bill). Joan loved to dance with Bill, travel, and enjoy time with their family and friends. Never a day went by without Joan and Bill holding hands.

Joan was predeceased by her parents, John and Marie Babbitts, her brothers, John and Richard, and her son Gary. Joan leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband William, son William Mayfield Jr., and his wife Eileen of Murrells Inlet, SC, daughter Karen DuBois and her husband Patrick of Colorado Springs, CO and her daughter-in-law Terri Mayfield of Highlands Ranch, CO. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Patrick DuBois Jr. (Ewa), William Mayfield III, Michele Powell, Daniel Mayfield (Amy), Michael DuBois (Amanda), Anthony Mayfield (Monica), Jeanette Harrison (Matthew), David DuBois (Morgan). Those grandchildren blessed Joan with fifteen great-grandchildren, Christian, Haleigh, Brooklynn, Trista, Matthew, Bo, Harper, Patrick III, Everleigh, Palmer, Gracie, Lincoln, Ford, Lucy and Adley. Joan is also survived by her sisters Barbara Gilham of Florida, and Judy Babbitts and her husband Elliot Maxwell of Maryland, and her sister-in-law Helen Babbitts of South Carolina. She leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved Joan dearly.

Services for Joan will be held at Swan Law Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 10 a.m.
