Born in Kansas City, Kansas to Henry Frank Horst and Alma Katherine Hallemeier, JoAnn was one of seven children. JoAnn began her career working in the banking industry in Kansas City. While working for the Mercantile Bank and Trust, JoAnn met Ronald Keith Knogge and they married in September 1955. Together they started a family and moved to Denver, Colorado in 1961; then to La Junta, Colorado in 1966. JoAnn worked as a daycare provider while her children attended school, finally returning to retail work after the last of her children had graduated from High School. JoAnn and Ronnie moved to Colorado Springs in 1990 where she worked for Rays Hallmark for many years.
JoAnn and Ronnie were blessed with four children: Brenda Kay (Robert) Misel, Debra Ann Clements, Gary Wayne (Kendra) Knogge, and Sherri Lynn Warrington. Along with her four children, eight grandchildren: Jennifer (Brian) Roerig, Matthew (Holly) Misel, Jared Knogge, Jeffrey (Aryn) Clements, Zachary Knogge, Kevin (Jo) Clements, Brandon (Katelyn) Warrington, Sarah (Rachel) Nash; and four great-grandchildren also survive her: Liam Roerig, Brantley Knogge, Juniper Misel, Natalie Warrington.
Beloved by her family JoAnn enjoyed playing solitaire, a good Rockies baseball game, and the return of the Poppies every spring. Our love and prayers go with her.
