Johanna Catherine Turner, age 98, passed away peacefully in her home on August 7, 2026 surrounded by her family. She was born on August 29, 1927 in Pierre, South Dakota. Her parents were Wilhelm and Florence Schreiber. She was the oldest of six children.
She married Laurin "Duke" Turner on July 3, 1945 in Port Orchard, Washington. They had six children: Florence (Sonny) Wise, Katherine (John) May, Rex Turner, Joann (Keith) Camp, Jimmie Turner, and HIlda Carragio. She was the proud Grandma of 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 33 great-great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-great- grandchildren.
Johanna enjoyed traveling and camping with her family. She loved taking pictures of all the family gatherings, especially at Christmas and all of her travels.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three sisters, Louise, Helen, and Alice; two brothers, Fred and Charlie; and a great-great-grandson, Angel.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Swan-Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80903, US, on August 25, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A Graveside service will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, CO 80910, US, on August 25, 2026, from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.
