John Barnhill

John Henry Barnhill, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully on August 24, 2012 in Colorado Springs, CO. He was born in Clarendon County, South Carolina on June 21, 1931, the second of six children to the late Matthew and Allie Barnhill.

John joined the Air Force in 1948 where he served in the Korean War and retired from the military Honorably as a Senior Master Sergeant in 1969. John then joined the Civil Service where he remained as a Supervisory Computer Programmer Analyst until he retired in December of 1989.

John leaves behind a devoted wife, Ruth C. Barnhill, loving children, Kathy (Mike) Stadwick, Jay Barnhill, Debbie (Patrick) Munsell, wonderful grandchildren, Becky, Luke, Nik, Joe and Brittnee, and great grandchildren, Kameron, Kenady, and Jaisley, and his loyal friend, Louie. John also leaves behind many loving friends and relatives.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 from 5:30 to 8:00 P.M. at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 North Cascade Avenue in Colorado Springs. Services are scheduled for Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. at Swan Law Funeral Directors. Burial services with Military Honors will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 2:00 P.M.
