John “Jack” Elmer Biava went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 21, 2026 John “Jack” Biava was born October 16, 1931, in Walsenburg, Colorado. As a young boy, he moved with his family to Colorado Springs. He graduated from St. Mary's High School before serving in the Navy. He worked for Safeway for approximately 40 years. After retiring, Jack worked/volunteered at Focus on the Family for about 15 years.
Jack loved fishing, serving as a deacon at Village 7 Presbyterian Church, and creating things out of wood. In his later years, he became known for making bears, birds, and flowers out of construction paper and giving them out to the other residents at his assisted living facility. He also was devoted to caring for his beloved wife Betty, who he was married to for over 68 years.
Jack is survived by his daughters Cathy Nystrom (Jon) and Judy Plaep (Dave) and his grandchildren Nicole Nystrom, Colin Nystrom (Savannah), Gabrielle Plaep and Elijah Plaep. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Biava, his daughter Theresa Biava, his mother Teresa Biava, and his sister Doris Biava.
Services will be held on July 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Village 7 Presbyterian Church.
