John Doddson Chan

Born on October 3, 1962, John was the cherished son of Carl Wah Chan and Sou Lin Chan. Growing up, he was a loyal and loving son and brother where there were countless childhood memories. He graduated from Champaign Central High School in 1980 and went on to the University of Illinois to receive his aeronautical engineering degree and a Master’s Degree from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. He also earned a Lay Ministry degree from Nazarene Bible College.

John had a great spirit and a jolly sense of humor. He loved to build model ships, airplanes, and Star Trek replicas. John was very spiritual so he had a love of reading that lasted his lifetime.

He is survived by his siblings, Mimi Young and Keith Chan and his nephews Jake Young, Max Young, and Mason Chan.
