
John had polio as a toddler, which greatly affected his legs. He spent much of his childhood in either a wheelchair or leg braces, but eventually he managed to walk unassisted and terrorize his sisters like a normal kid. He learned to work on cars from his father at an early age and built his first chopper as a teenager. This led him to a lifetime career as a master technician.
He was the 8th of 9 children. His parents Eleanor and Edward One sister, Joan and one brother Gene preceded him in death.
He is survived by the love of his life, Marian Buckshot Dunston,They just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary November 17. He was blessed with 6 sons; Sean, Dean, Adam, Eric, James Dunston, and Jeffrey Watts, seven grandchildren, one great grand child, and 3 daughters-in-law, all of whom survive him.
He worked at Penkus Motor Company, and Import Specialty for several years before retiring to the mountain home he built with his family.
He is well known for being an honest and caring man, loved and respected by many. He taught his children the value of a hard days work, the importance of family, and treating people with respect.
He is loved by many and will be greatly missed
The viewing will be Monday December 17, at 12pm at advantage chapel of memories, 829 s. Hancock, services will follow at 2pm.
