John Wayne Holdren, Jr., beloved husband, father, Realtor and best friend to so many, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016, in Colorado Springs, Colorado at the age of 64. He was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado, August, 13, 1951 to the late John and Ann Holdren. From age 2 to 51, John lived in Fayetteville, North Carolina, where he began his 40 year career in real estate. He was well-known and involved with many local organizations, and he especially loved helping our men and women in the military, as he put it "find their way home". After visiting Colorado and falling in love with this beautiful state, John decided to move to Colorado Springs, which became his home for 14 years. His career in real estate flourished and he quickly made a name for himself in both commercial and residential sales. Here he met his beautiful wife Carol. John was in the prime of his life which makes his passing that much harder, but he will certainly be remembered at his best. John is unforgettable because of his unmatched charismatic, loving and authentic personality. He touched so many lives in a deep and sincere way, and therefore this loss is widespread. John leaves behind to cherish his memory, devoted wife, Carol Holdren; loving children, Stephanie Holdren, Lindsay Collazo and husband Chris, Andy Miller, and Amanda Miller; mother to his daughters Tina Shimizu; siblings, Mark Lewis and Jennifer Chilton; mother-in-law Irene Draeger, sister-in-law Gail and husband Bud Pruyn, brother-in-law Dave Draeger, brother-in-law Bruce Draeger and wife Toni; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless beloved friends. John’s favorite things were family, outdoor adventures in Colorado and North Carolina, dancing and most of all to make every moment with loved ones a party! A Celebration of John’s Life is scheduled for Friday, April 29th, at 11:00 am at New Life Church, 11025 Voyager, Colorado Springs. Arrangements are being handled by Mountain View Mortuary; a guest book can be signed at dignitymemorial.com. The 'John Wayne Holdren Memorial Account' has been set up at ENT Credit Union for those who have been asking for a place to make donations. John would have loved nothing more than to see as many of his friends at his Celebration of Life, as you were all so near and dear to his heart.
