

John “Jack” A. Kannapel, 76, passed away due to a respiratory illness on September 3, 2010 at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado He was born February 21, 1934 in New Albany, Indiana to Brooks A. and Margaret (Beeler) Kannapel, who preceded him in death. His daughter, Lizbeth A. Schindler also preceded him in death.
He was married to Emma Lou (Riely) for 58 years. He is survived by his wife, Emma Lou; son, James B. (Jean) Kannapel; daughter, Deborah “Sue” (Jim) Meyers; son, John J. (Esther) Kannapel; daughter, Linda L. (Charlie) Raque; daughter, Ellen M. (Chris) Jones; son, Chris C. (Lisa) Kannapel; son-in-law, Leon Schindler; 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
John spent 23 years in California working first at Cal-Edison, then later as a Real Estate Appraiser. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling and playing golf after retiring in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2002.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, September 6, 2010 from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. No services are scheduled at this time.
