He served his country as a Captain in the U.S. Marines and as a fighter pilot, fighting in the Vietnam War. Throughout his life, John Mark spoke often and with steady conviction about defending his country and about what it meant to be a Marine—words that reflected a brave spirit, a resilient will, and a thoughtful sense of duty.
On September 11, 1987, John Mark married Tina in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. After that day, “John” was most often simply “Tina’s husband,” a beloved presence whose loyalty and quiet wisdom anchored the family life they built together. He was the proud father of two sons, Jamie and Kevin, and the cherished grandfather of Autumn.
Away from formal duties, John’s adventurous streak showed itself in the pleasures he chose: drag racing, golfing, and unhurried days at the lake. In these moments, too, he carried the same steady strength—meeting life with courage, gratitude, and a calm, enduring heart.
John Mark is survived by his wife, Tina; his sons, Jamie and Kevin; daughter-in-law, Katherine; his granddaughter, Autumn; his brother, George; and his sister, Jeanne. He was preceded in death by his sister, Janet.
May he Rest in Peace.
