

John Owen White, 72, of Colorado Springs passed away on April 7, 2011. John was born on April 26, 1938 in Denver, Colorado to the late Raymond and Gladys (Johnson) White. He married Joann White in Maui, Hawaii in 1992.
John served in the United States Navy for three years. After his service he was employed by Mountain Bell as an engineer. John retired in 1991 after thirty years. He spent four years living in Maui, Hawaii. John was a member of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Club and the Parkinson’s Support Group. He enjoyed collecting rocks, designing jewelry and spending time with family and friends. John was a very giving person. He spent some of the best years enjoying what Hawaii had to offer.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Joann; children, Curtis (Deborah) White, Julieanne White, Sheri White, Robbie (Barbara) McBroom, Ron Dietrich and Trish Dietrich; seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren; sister, Shirley (Bob) Brown and brother Douglas (Carrie) Chipman.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Pikes Peak Hospice and to his caregiver and friend, Kelly Reverts for the wonderful care and comfort they have provided throughout the months.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Swan Law Funeral Directors, 501 N. Cascade Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80913. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Pikes Peak Hospice.
