Joseph Paul Drotar—our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend—was born on January 4, 1946, on a ranch in Matheson, Colorado. Joe was always academically minded and was interested in technology. At the age of 12, he decided he wanted to be an electrical engineer. He graduated as valedictorian from Simla High School in 1964. Then he earned an Electrical Engineering degree at the University of Colorado and began his career in California. Due to some wonderful friends, Joe accepted Christ as his Savior in 1974, which completely changed the direction of his life. Around that time, he met a special lady, Pamela Touzeau, and they married in 1975. Joe and Pam moved back to Colorado, and in 1986, their daughter Danika was born. Joe and his family regularly attended church and raised Danika to love Jesus Christ. He also shared with his siblings a love for his family’s heritage ranch and worked hard for its ongoing maintenance. In 2006, Joe and his family moved to Oregon and lived there until his death. Joe was always extremely faithful to his family, and he had a steady, strong faith in Christ. He passed away peacefully in his home state of Colorado while visiting his beloved extended family.
