With a sad heart, we wish to say our mother, Josephine Davis, passed away November 21, 2011 at Union Printers Home.
Josie was born in Colorado Springs July 28, 1917 to Bernard and Florence Sentena and the ninth of eleven children. They lived in Papton where her father was a coal miner and mother a homemaker. While working in Cushing, OK, she met Willard Davis who was driving a taxi and drove her to church every Sunday. They were married January 22, 1939 in Phoenix, AZ. After Willard returned from serving in the Seabees during WWII, they made their home here.
She spent her working years taking care of other people. Josie was a loving wife and mother, great cook and loved to crochet.
She made her home for the last five years at Union Printers Home where she was happy and loved to play Bingo and Jokereno.
Josie is preceded in death by all her brothers and sisters and her husband of fifty years, Willard. She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Miller and Georgian Kalow (Gary); three grandchildren, Christine Webb, Jason Kalow (Yavonne) and Shannon Coffey (Russ); one great-granddaughter Ashley Webb and one great, great granddaughter Elayna Webb.
A visitation will be Sunday, November 27, 2011 from 5-7pm with Rosary at 7pm at Memorial Gardens Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, November 28 at 10am at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
